Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a strategic analytics partner to Operations and Finance leadership, delivering high-impact analytical solutions that drive business decisions. This role requires advanced technical proficiency combined with exceptional executive communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations. The position demands independent execution of sophisticated ad-hoc analyses while mentoring junior analysts and collaborating with data engineering teams to scale analytical solutions into production systems.

• Serve as primary analytics partner to Operations leadership (COO, VPs, Directors), with secondary support to Finance and other business units as needed
• Execute complex ad-hoc analyses independently, including data extraction via SQL, manipulation in Excel and Python, and statistical modeling to answer business-critical questions
• Design and develop executive-ready presentations with compelling data visualizations, charts, and graphs using Power BI and PowerPoint, ensuring clear annotation of key findings and business implications
• Translate complex analytical concepts, calculations, and data nuances into clear, accessible language for executive audiences with varying technical backgrounds
• Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers to transition successful ad-hoc analyses into production-ready reports and dashboards, providing detailed technical specifications and business logic documentation
• Mentor junior business intelligence analysts on technical skills, analytical approaches, stakeholder communication, and professional development
• Ensure exceptional quality and accuracy in all analytical deliverables through rigorous data validation, cross-checking calculations, and thorough documentation of methodologies
• Proactively identify data quality issues, propose solutions, and work with appropriate teams to resolve discrepancies and improve data integrity
• Navigate ambiguous business questions by clarifying requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, and proposing analytical approaches that align with strategic objectives
• Build trusted partnerships with business stakeholders through consistent delivery of high-quality insights, responsive communication, and deep understanding of operational priorities

• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or analytics roles with progressive responsibility
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data extraction from relational databases
• Expert-level Excel skills including advanced formulas, pivot tables, power query, and data modeling
• Proficiency with Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations
• Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings to executive audiences through presentations, reports, and visualizations
• Demonstrated experience partnering with technical teams (data engineers, BI developers) to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes
• Experience mentoring or training junior analysts
• Track record of delivering high-quality analytical solutions in fast-paced, dynamic business environments

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
• Certified Business Intelligence Professional or Business Analytics certification
• Healthcare industry experience
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation (pandas, numpy libraries)
• Knowledge of R for statistical analysis
• Experience with Azure Databricks or Databricks platform
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or other cloud-based data platforms
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) for code collaboration
• Experience working in Agile project management methodology
• Understanding of statistical modeling and predictive analytics techniques
• Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM platforms
