Position Summary

The Senior Associate General Counsel will serve as a strategic business partner and trusted legal advisor across multiple departments—including Product Development, Human Resources, Marketing, Business Development, Medical Quality and Improvement, and Client Services—collaborating with cross-functional teams to support and enable business growth while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across all initiatives. This senior-level attorney will play a critical role in enabling the company’s growth, protecting its network of affiliated physicians, and mitigating legal and regulatory risk in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Physician Advocacy

  • Advice on insurance coverage issues, including appeals
  • Advise physician or employment matters

Agreement Negotiation

  • Negotiate and draft non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), services agreements, and vendor contracts.

Risk Mitigation and Dispute Management

  • Protect the company’s network of affiliated physicians through proactive legal strategies.
  • Lead and manage all dispute resolution and litigation, including oversight of outside counsel.
  • Advise on credentialing issues, including malpractice.
  • Review marketing materials for compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
  • Negotiate and draft various agreements, including vendors, settlement and dispute related

       contracts.

Revenue Growth and New Product Development:

  • Establish the legal framework for new product verticals to ensure compliant expansion and

       sustainable revenue growth.

  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new business initiatives and strategic

       partnerships.      

Employment Law Advisory:

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor on employment-related matters and disputes, including those

        involving the FMLA, ADA, and EEOC.

  • Advise on employment policies, employee relations, and compliance with applicable federal and

       state employment laws.

  • Train operational teams on best practices for documentation, communication, and dispute

       avoidance.

Key Competencies

  • Exceptional communication, drafting, and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex matters independently and provide clear business-oriented advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build trusted relationships with executives and business leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of practicing combined litigation law and healthcare at a law firm.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of practicing combined litigation law and healthcare at a law firm.
  • Significant experience counseling healthcare companies or physician organizations.
  • Strong background in litigation and employment law, restrictive covenants, and contract negotiation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex disputes and oversee outside counsel.
  • Experience advising on marketing compliance, commercial transactions, and new product launches.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across appropriate US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience.
