Position Summary

MDVIP, the nation’s leading personalized healthcare company, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join our

Legal Department as Associate General Counsel. This role will provide legal advice and strategic guidance on a

wide range of healthcare regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters to support the company’s

operations and growth.

The Associate General Counsel serves as a key member of the Legal Department, providing strategic and

operational legal support across the organization. This role advises on healthcare regulatory matters,

contracts, compliance, employment law, and corporate governance. The Associate General Counsel partners

closely with executive leadership, operations, compliance, and human resources to mitigate risk and ensure

adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on key healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute,

Medicare/Medicaid, and third-party payors/health plans.

Advise on matters involving AI and cybersecurity in healthcare, including risk assessments, compliance

strategies, and incident response.

Assisting with commercial insurance guidance, including credentialing, appeals, and contracting issues

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors and healthcare partners, including Business Associate

Agreements and Data Processing Agreements.

Support corporate transactions, including M&A (experience preferred, but not required.

Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, IT, operations, and executive leadership to identify risks

and implement solutions.

Monitor and analyze changes in healthcare law and regulation to ensure ongoing compliance.

Assist with internal investigations, audits, and responses to regulatory inquiries.

Key Competencies

Familiarity with legal considerations relating to AI and cybersecurity in healthcare.

Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and provide business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

Five (5) years of experience practicing healthcare law at a law firm.

Preferred Qualifications

Seven (7) years of experience practicing healthcare law.

At least 1 year of in-house legal experience in the healthcare sector.

Demonstrated expertise in HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare, and third-party

payor/health plan issues.
