Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be

responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our workforce, ensuring full compliance with

all wage and hour laws. You’ll serve as the go-to expert for payroll-related matters and collaborate with HR

and Finance to continuously improve our payroll processes and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll for employees.

• Review timecards, leave accruals, benefit deductions, and commissions to ensure accuracy and

completeness.

• Manage off-cycle payments, bonuses, retroactive adjustments, and payroll corrections.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

• Administer garnishments, wage assignments, and other deductions in accordance with court orders and

regulations.

• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmations after submission.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, tax withholdings, and earnings statements.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

• Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, and employee data changes.

• Assist with year-end reporting including W-2s, ACA filings, and audit support.

• Ability to manage sensitive data with a high degree of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three (3) years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment OR, One (1) or Two (2)

years of experience with a strong aptitude and ability to have a learning mindset.

• Experience with payroll systems.

• Familiarity with HRIS/timekeeping systems.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations (FLSA, IRS, DOL).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT and Word).

Preferred Qualifications

• CPP or FPC certification preferred but not required.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Background in working with both exempt and non-exempt populations.

• Exposure to payroll in a [PE-backed / healthcare / professional services] environment is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across appropriate US geographic markets.
