Position Summary

Success in this role requires the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and professional interactions with affiliated physicians and their staff, internal MDVIP employees and external vendors. The optimization services begin with pre go live training, onsite training and support, and evolves into a long-term support partnership towards full EHR adoption. The EHR team works collaboratively to enhance the documentation practices and workflows that focus on the affiliates’ needs, optimizing clinical outcomes, maximizing quality reporting and fiscal responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery, Optimization and Ongoing Support (65%)

Lead Athena Clinicals and Athena Communicator trainings:
o Conduct virtual pre-go-live, onsite go-live, and post-go-live sessions.
o Develop and deliver customized training plans based on practice needs.
o Share workflow recommendations and best practices to drive EHR adoption.
Travel approximately 80% of the time for onsite trainings.
Conduct virtual optimization sessions with established practices:
o Perform needs assessments and review user proficiency.
o Customize workflows to improve efficiency and documentation quality.
o Provide training for new hires upon office request.

 

Administrative Duties (20%)

Manage training schedule and documentation:
o Monitor OS assignment calendar and arrange travel.
o Conduct pre-training outreach.
o Submit expense reports in a timely manner.
o Complete trip summaries in a timely manner.
o Send post-go-live emails.
o Update Salesforce and associated cases.

 

Affiliate Support (10%)

Support affiliate success and practice performance:
o Create training outlines, agendas, and supporting materials.
o Host scheduled webinars and Lunch-and-Learn sessions for affiliates.
o Complete assigned cases and special projects when not traveling.
o Respond to affiliate and staff inquiries via email or phone.
o Communicate key updates to internal teams and draft affiliate communications.

 

Knowledge Maintenance (5%)

Stay current with all product and industry updates:
o Review bi-weekly and quarterly Athena release notes.
o Monitor potential updates on the Athena Roadmap.
o Attend release training sessions and complete ongoing education as needed.

Training & Facilitation Skills: Ability to deliver engaging, tailored training (both virtual and onsite) that improves user proficiency, adoption, and workflow efficiency.
Relationship Management & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with physicians, staff, vendors, and internal teams; skilled at professional communication across diverse stakeholders.
Clinical Workflow & EHR Optimization Expertise: Deep knowledge of Athena Clinicals and medical office workflows, with the ability to assess needs, customize solutions, and optimize documentation practices.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess affiliate challenges, identify gaps in workflows, and recommend actionable solutions that support clinical outcomes, quality reporting, and operational efficiency.
Adaptability & Self-Management: Comfortable with high travel demands, shifting priorities, and independent work; organized with strong time management for training schedules, cases, and administrative tasks.
Technical Proficiency & Continuous Learning: Proficient in core tools (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, screen sharing apps), quick to learn new technologies, and committed to staying current with product and industry updates.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Experience / Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from four-year college or university required, or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling.

  • At least three years athenaClinicals training and a solid understanding of EHR and medical office workflow required

 Computer Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Screen Sharing Apps
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce and HTML
  • Able to learn new software easily.

 Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record.
  • TSA approved identification upon hire.

Field based roles:

  • This role requires substantial overnight travel, including air travel.  The home residence must be within 60 miles or 120 minutes driving distance to a large airport servicing the United States.
  • Home residence is the taxable location.  
  • When not traveling, this role is approved for home-based work, from the location identified at the time of hire. Any change of work location, even on a short-term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the Supervisor and HR and approved at the sole discretion of executive leadership. 
  • At no time may work be performed, or computer systems accessed, from outside of the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

An understanding of the CMS program MIPS, clinical training and primary care medical office experience is highly desirable.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across appropriate US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience.
