Position Summary

MDVIP is seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and automation of AI/ML solutions. This role combines deep machine learning expertise with strong engineering and MLOps skills to build and productionalize predictive models, ensure scalable automation, and deliver measurable business value. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of AI, data engineering, and platform reliability.

You’ll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders across the organization to design AI products that are robust, interpretable, and continuously improving in performance. This is a high impact shaping the AI vision across MDVIP.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Deployment

    • Build predictive models end to end, from data acquisition to deployment and monitoring in production.
    • Leverage advanced AI tools and platforms, including generative AI, LLMs (e.g., GPT-based models), and embedding techniques, to enhance model performance, decision-making, and productivity.
    • Apply MLOps best practices to monitor model performance, detect data/model drift, and automate retraining when thresholds are breached.
    • Build feature pipelines from structured and unstructured data across sources like SQL Server, Databricks, and Salesforce.

AI Solutions & Innovation

      • Engage in AI-powered solutions that integrate NLP, intelligent agents, and knowledge-based systems for clinical, operational, and customer-facing use cases.
      • Evaluate and fine-tune pretrained models and APIs to accelerate development and reduce time to value.
      • Continuously research and assess emerging AI/ML trends and tools for potential adoption.

MLOps and Automation

    • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows using tools like MLflow, Airflow, Docker/Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
    • Drive automation of training, scoring, and monitoring pipelines to support scalability and reliability.
    • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and ethical AI practices.

Cross-Team Collaboration

    • Collaborate across teams—engineering, operations, marketing, and analytics—to define and execute AI/ML roadmaps that bring measurable value to our members.
    • Contribute directly through hands-on development and architectural leadership of AI/ML systems.
    • Effectively present AI solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.

Mentorship & Standards

    • Share AI/ML best practices and mentor Jr team members and engineers on responsible AI, efficient model development, and technical excellence.
    • Promote a strong experimentation culture and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
  • 4 - 8 years of experience in building and deploying ML and AI systems in production.
  • Strong programming experience in Python, with deep knowledge of ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Airflow, Docker/Kubernetes, and model registries.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure) and data engineering practices using Spark, SQL, and Databricks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with LLMs, transformers, vector databases, and AI search.
  • Experience with AI platforms and services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, Pinecone, or similar).
  • Experience in healthcare, preventive medicine, or regulated industries.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake and modern data stack tools.
  • Exposure to A/B testing, causal inference, and explainable AI (XAI).
  • Awareness of ethical AI, data bias, and governance principles.
