Position Summary

The Executive Director, Event Marketing is a senior leader responsible for designing and executing high-impact marketing and corporate communication strategies aimed at attracting physician prospects and deepening engagement with existing affiliated physicians.

 

This role is responsible for building a strong pipeline of Physicians who are activated, engaged, and informed to make a decision to join MDVIP. The ideal candidate will focus on achieving this goal through effective recruitment event branding, content for C-suite and executive communications, and managing all logistics for national physician events. In addition, the Executive Director partners across the organization to support new business and marketing innovation strategies that enhance the physician and affiliate experience. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with analytical thinking, possess exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrate a passion for creating meaningful connections with healthcare professionals through innovative event experiences. They will be relentlessly curious, constantly seeking new data insights to evolve our event strategy and drive measurable business growth through physician engagement.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the creative strategies for major recruiting events, affiliate conferences, and business development engagements targeted at physicians.
  • Develop comp.rehensive event marketing plans that align with MDVIP's brand values and business objectives
  • Direct logistics, execution, and production for multiple high-visibility events throughout the year, ensuring they reflect MDVIP's brand and meet business outcomes.
  • Implement sophisticated data collection systems to measure event performance, including attendance patterns, engagement metrics, conversion rates, and long-term physician relationship development.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-event ROI analysis to continuously refine approaches and maximize return on multi-million-dollar investments.
  • Champion a data-driven, growth mindset approach across the events team, consistently testing new formats and strategies based on performance insights.
  • Establish clear KPIs for each event type and regularly report outcomes to leadership with actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key physician stakeholders before, during, and after events.
  • Supervise internal events staff and external vendors to deliver seamless event experiences.
  • Partner closely with content, medical affairs, and marketing teams to guide development of compelling event content that resonates with physician audiences.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration to ensure all event content and materials align with brand messaging while addressing physician needs and pain points.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and medical affairs teams to ensure an integrated approach to physician engagement.
  • Manage complex event budgets with accountability for financial performance.
  • Stay current on healthcare industry trends to develop innovative event concepts that resonate with medical professionals.

Key Competencies

  • Proven track record of managing complex events with budgets exceeding $1 million.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to measure event effectiveness and ROI.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement methodologies to event.
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to oversee multiple events simultaneously.
  • Experience building and maintaining vendor relationships and negotiating contracts
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and navigate matrix organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into creative event concept.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in event marketing.
  • Five (5) years in leadership, director level roles or managing teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or MBA.
  • Three (3) years focused on physician or healthcare professional engagement.
  • Experience marketing to physicians in private practice settings.
  • Knowledge of medical specialties and physician pain points/motivations.
  • Background in membership or subscription-based business models.
  • Experience with marketing analytics platforms and attribution modeling.
  • Experience with CRM systems and event management platforms.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance considerations for physician events
